What is Baraka Records?

In 1998, inspired by the film Baraka, three friends decided to organize an electronic dance music party in Oxford. After 120 events, 200 guest artists and nearly a decade later, in October 2007, Baraka Records was launched to proactively support the arts community.  

Baraka Records is a social enterprise that creates safe, social and above all stimulating environments in which to experience the latest psychedelic music from around the globe.  The proceeds from the Baraka Records events are fully reinvested to support the diverse range of artists that perform at them.

From the moment you walk into a Baraka Records party, we hope that you will see a refreshing change from most club nights.  You’ll find people from all walks of life from fresh-faced students to aging hippies in venues transformed with immersive ultraviolet decor.  The atmosphere is one where people feel comfortable talking to strangers, being themselves and most of all, having fun. The nights are successful because the people who come have a good time. The Baraka Records parties mean different things to different people. Some say that the parties are meditative and spiritual journeys, while others just want to go out and let their hair down with their mates.
